Kwanzaa Comes to the Co-op

As a holiday that celebrates principals like unity, creativity, cooperation, and respect, Kwanzaa aligns with our many missions to participate in and support community. We at the Durham Co-op want to honor all of the principals of Kwanzaa and celebrate the diverse cultural traditions and works of our black community.

On Dec. 29th we will celebrate the principal of Ujamaa, or Cooperative Economics, by featuring demos from our black vendors and highlighting the achievements, works, and creations of our black entrepreneurs.

Also, stop in to the Co-op from Dec. 26th through Jan. 1st to see our traditional Kwanzaa table and ask, or answer the question, “How do you celebrate community?”.
