Along with the city of Durham, starting Monday, March 7th, face masks will be optional for everyone in our store. We will continue to provide masks to customers and staff, and to support anyone who chooses to wear one.
As always, we will continue to evaluate our mask policy on an ongoing basis. Should circumstances change in the future, we will make changes in response and may reinstate the mask requirement or other protective measures.
We still recommend against talking without masks in close proximity and unnecessary or extended gathering within the store, especially without masks. We encourage all customers to be mindful of others while shopping.
We acknowledge that this decision may be upsetting to some Co-op shoppers. Throughout the pandemic, we have tried to factor in the needs and wishes of as many people and perspectives as possible.
